Why change cursor and how?

“More screen resolution you have smaller cursor you get because its size in pixels always the same.”

It is always possible to find cursor but stroking mouse on table or touch-pad and making it flying over the screen but don’t you think cursor should be noticeable by itself?

Another point – optical laser based mouse which most of people now have are great things but sometimes cursor flies around screen in case you have glossy table or just rise mouse over it. This is kind of uncomfortable and again makes spend your time and concentration for finding cursor on screen. Time important in working time and concentration is always important because without it you can’t do things. Small cursor flying over screen does not make you concentrate better on what you are doing – you distracted by looking at small cursor and on keeping it in sight.

To change cursor normally you go to Windows control panel and set up mouse style. You can choose Big or even Gigantic cursor set from control panel, but even gigantic not always big enough to feel comfortable. It is big and noticeable but not nice. It takes part of your attention by taking bigger part of screen but who knows what emotions it generates to you? Looking whole working day at big black pointer – is it good? Small – hard to see, big but boring – not pleasant to see. Any idea about what else can change your cursor?

There could be plenty ideas and funny cursors you may get from Internet and save to Windows system: balls, birds, dinos, cats etc. Thousands of cursors available on the net and ready to change cursor in your system but they all reach maximum size of 128*128 or 256*256 pixels because its Windows limitation of cursor size. Its better when nothing but we can do much better.

The reason “why” is to have both “easy to see” and “pleasant to see” cursor. Why to pay so much attention to cursor? Because we looking at cursor almost 100% of time working on computer: this little thing we see all computer life. I think it worth making it nice to get positive emotions from it as much as possible.

The way to overtake small Windows limitation – is to have piece of software capable to change cursor outlook to anything you like.
